It started with a simple frustration. Every dream app we tried said roughly the same thing: dreamt about falling? You're anxious. Teeth falling out? You're afraid of ageing. The answers sounded confident, but none of them came from anywhere.
So we went looking for what sleep researchers actually know. It turns out there's decades of solid work on dreams, and none of it involves a symbol dictionary. What it does show is that dreams tend to reflect what matters to us, that the body plays a bigger part than most people realise, and that the most useful thing is often a good question rather than an answer.
Undreamt is the journal we wanted and couldn't find: honest about what dreams can and can't tell you, careful with the most private thoughts you have, and built to help you think for yourself.
